Note :
- The ECU Communication ID should be registered when the transponder key ECU and(or) the Engine ECU is replaced.
- The engine cannot be started unless the Engine ECU Communication ID matches.
Hint :
- Do not disconnect an reconnect the battery during this procedure.
- Clear DTC 2799 after this procedure.
- After replacing the transponder key ECU, do not allow the ignition switch to be turned ON and OFF 20 times or more until the ECU communication registration is completed. If the ignition switch is turned ON and OFF 20 times or more, the transponder key ECU determines the engine ECU is not correct type and the engine will bot be able to be started. In this case, the transponder key ECU will require replacement to allow registration.
Procedure :
- Insert a jumper wire between terminal TC and CG of the DLC3.
- Insert an already registered key into the ignition key cylinder. Turn the ignition switch to ON but don't start the engine.
- Leave the ignition switch as is for 30 min.
- Turn the ignition switch to OFF. Disconnect the jumper wire from the DLC3.
- Ensure the engine starts.
- Clear any DTCs.
- Check the engine runs smoothly.
